Explorers of Darkness is one of the most story-driven Pokémon games on the system—and easily one of the most memorable nintendo games on DS if you like emotional RPGs with a bit of grind and strategy.

You wake up as a Pokémon, form an exploration team, and join Wigglytuff’s Guild—taking jobs, exploring mystery dungeons, and slowly getting pulled into a bigger plot involving Time Gears and the stability of time itself. 

The dungeon layouts are randomized, so each run is different, but the real hook is the narrative momentum and character writing that made this era legendary among fans (especially anyone who grew up with pokemon red version and wanted a deeper story later on).
