Pokémon Gold is peak late-90s handheld magic — and owning it Complete in Box is the kind of thing collectors don’t “accidentally” stumble into. This is the Johto adventure that introduced the real-time day/night cycle and made the world feel alive in a way most old retro games simply didn’t back then.
You start in New Bark Town, build your team, and work your way through gyms while the game’s clock changes which Pokémon you can find and what events trigger. It’s also the era that gave us so many iconic moments and fan-favourite Pokémon (yes, including gold dragonite energy if you’re building a classic powerhouse team).
